Jay Dempsey is a Partner at MSIG and is responsible for co-managing the firm’s strategic initiatives and investment mandates.

Jay is actively involved in developing and implementing the firm’s investment theses, strategies, and verticals and works closely with the firm’s investors and capital markets team.

Jay has principally developed and acquired a real estate portfolio exceeding $1.2 billion, with realized sales on that portfolio of more than $2 billion.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining MSIG, Jay was a Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner at Civitas Senior Living, a leading U.S. owner, operator and manager of senior housing. Under Jay’s management, Civitas developed and acquired more than 30 senior housing communities across the acuity continuum, operating with more than 2,500 employees nationally.

Additionally, Jay is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Red River Development, a developer, operator and property manager of multifamily and build-to-rent communities. Prior to Civitas, Jay worked in the Healthcare Banking group at Bank of Texas.

Education

Jay received a B.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School Of Business.
